South Country Concerts – 2024 – It’s Not Baroque
Welcome to our 24th season! We’ve programmed some luxurious Romantics: Puccini, Mendelssohn, Fauré and Schubert. Elexey Shor, was a math prodigy and turned to composition. Coleridge-Taylor is known as the “African Mahler.” Mark O’Connor, violin fiddler extraordinaire wrote his “Appalachia Waltz” for Yo-Yo Ma. Martin Wind is a virtuoso jazz bassist. His “Looking Back” is scored for violin, viola, bass and piano, as is the Trout Quintet by Schubert.
